"FORSTER THERMOMATIC"

A number of years ago I bought some reloading equipment and components from an old man who had decided to give up reloading. Among the reloading gadgets was a "FORSTER THERMOMATIC" case mouth reconditioner. It is electrically heated, with a circular slot into which the mouth of a 12 gague case can be inserted. The heat melts the wax in a paper case and when it is removed the wax hardens again to give a stiffer, smoother case mouth which makes for a better crimp and extends case life by a few reloadings.

Although it was obviously designed for use with paper cases I have found it is also usefull with many plastic cases. The problem is that you have to be carefull (i.e. quick) because even at the lowest heat setting (via a rotary switch) it will quickly melt plastic. With a little practice however, it will soften the plastic just enough to make reloading easier and give a better crimp.

I like it so much I wish I had one for the other gauges (10 and 20) that I reload.

Does anyone know if these were made in other than 12 gauge ?

Or if any other company makes or did make anything similar ?
