Someone wants to trade me for one of my M1 Garands, And he has a Styer
Scout rifle for trade, but it is in .376 Mag, is this just a necked up .375 or what? Any info on this caliber or value of the gun would greatly be apprecaited. I would rather have a .308.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them.
But if its the Jeff Cooper Package with the Leupold 2.5x scope then its $1389.99.
The .376steyr was designed to be used practically on any game animal on earth. According to what I've read it works for anything you'd normally hunt with anything froma 6mm to a .41cal bullet. Fireing a 300gr bullet easily generating 4000ft lbs, it is supposed to even be capable of droping a Cape Buffalo (I personally would want something a little bigger.
210gr Barnes X w/75.1grs N540 3033fps 4291e
250gr A-Frame w/77.2grs N550 2863fps 4552e
300gr FMJ w/70.7grs N550 2604fps 4518e
It looks like a hell of a cartridge, with a hell of alot of kick on heavier loads and really expensive to shoot. I wouldn't even bother unless you were a handloader. It does look like a great all around rifle, the steyr scout that is, but I would probably want it in something a little more practical like a .308win.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
