olympic arms "plinker" ar-15

can anyone tell me if the budget priced "plinker" ar-15 from olympic arms is good qaulity and worth the money? whats the difference between its a1 sights and the newer a2 and a3 sights? whats the disadvantage to having cast metal recievers?

    The only question I can answer is the difference between the A1 and A2 style sights. The A1 isn't adjustable for elevation, its the first style sight for the M16, intended for combat use, you were just supposed to sight in the elevation with the front sight. The A2 style sight is easily adjustable for windage and elevation. You start out with the standard 100 meter peep, then flip it up for the 300 meter peep, and the use the elevation knob and follow the marks every 100 meters to 800.

    I hear that the canadians are still using the A1 style sights on their rifles.
