Which AR 15(clone) ??

Hi Experts,

I am looking at two low-cost "new" AR-15s but can only get one. I am looking for something to go shooting with, and probably to have around for defense. The first is an Olympic Arms Plinker for $580 delivered to my FFL. The second on is a Hesse Arms flattop for $530 delivered to my FFL. I am looking for opinions as to which of the two to get. (the obvious answer might be, "forget both, and get a Bushmaster or Colt" but I can't afford those at this time.)

Thanks in advance.

DPMS Lo Pro is in the same ball park. You might want to check one out......

Run, do not walk from the Hesse product. The Oly would be a good choice.

i suggest you do a search on gunbroker , enter dpms then rock river .
you will find a better gun in your price range if you look . these two guns are very nice quality at a moderate cost ( 50 bucks more than the oly you mentioned ) .

actually hdwrench, I can get a Rock River for about the same price
as the Olympic Arms Plinker. So maybe that's the way to go. Anyone
    else have opinions?

I've only had the Colt m4, and the Oly pcr. The Colt's are now out of my price range. I just bought an Oly w/16 inch heavy barrel, and fixed carry handle, I'm REAL happy with the Oly. I think that if I had to do it again though I might go with the removable handle.

    Thanks, Grizztribefans@sssnet.com

Go with the Rock River or Bushmaster. I bought the DPMS,had problems
with it, and they gave me bad customer service. Just my experience.
