i have been offered a daewoo dp 51 for about $300. I am not sure if this is a good price since i know nothing about the gun itself. i was just wondering if anyone could give me some feed back on the quality since i cannot seem to find any information on it other then specs. oh, yeah, the quality is new so that's not an issue.

South Korean manufacture and if I am not mistaken it also is a triple action pistol. I own a DR200 in .223 and have found it to be an exceptional weapon. Hope you get feedback on your specific pistol.

I owned a DR-200 as well. The only problem I had was it began shooting full auto after about 1000 rounds were put through it. The Daewoo pistols have had their own problems. I read an article on them when they first came out and the author didn't have much good to say about them. Accuracy and reliability can not be substituted for price. If all you have is 300 bucks, save about fifty more and get a used glock.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

I got a new one for $325 with 2 12-round magazines (one will actually hold 13). That, I think, was a reasonable baseline. I love mine - quality is good and it fits my hand well. The tri-action feature is an oddity that I enjoy.

Check to see what mags you are getting (10 shot are, of course, the politically correct current issue). Also note that some, but not all, S&W 59-series mags will fit.

If interested, I have an old gun mag lying around that has an article on it (if I can find it among all my other junk). I can either send or FAX you the article. Let me know -joferranti@aol.com

Triple action, you pull back on the hammer all the way. Then you push it foward and it becomes a double action with a single action trigger pull.Clear as mud huh !

Hi Guys & Doll's (BlackRoses - T-Lynn - and MsBeast, I know you are out there)----:)

With my "handle", you should be able to tell that shotguns are the thing that I know at least something about.

I do have a Daewoo DH-40 in .40S&W. It is the ONLY autoloader that I will trust my wife's life to and only one of 3 handguns -- period -- that I will trust that task to. The other two are S&W revolvers.

With one up the "spout" and the hammer in full-cock, put the safety on --- put it in the holster and put the "thumb-break" on the holster.
    Essentially --- "cocked - & - locked" on a 1911.

Secondly, PUSH the hammer forward with the thumb --- put it in the holster and switch the safely to "OFF" --- and pull the trigger when you draw. First shot is double action. Everything after that is single action. With 11 in the magazine and one up the spout, she should be able to solve most serous social occasions problems.

Thirdly, safety off --- thumb the hammer as though it were as single action Ruger. First shot is single action and everything after that is single action "auto-loading" just like a 1911.

    "Tri-action"

Never had a single problem with it. Put more rounds through it than you can shake a stick at. It is the only "auto-loader" that I will teach a person to use. Otherwise---if you want me to teach you to use a handgun ---- it will be a revolver.

Best Regards To All On The Forum

AQH: I know you love your wife big guy. Better use your s+w revolvers from what I've read about the Daewoo pistols. I love my wife immensely and thats why I told her I had to buy my Kimber. lol.
