Pony Pocketlite Double action. It was built in Sept 1997. The problem it was carried in a pants pocket occasionally and the original owner managed to get a get a few brush marks (rub marks) on the side of the slide. The kind that you catch yourself trying to rub off with your thumb. Can I use something to buff those out with ruining the original brushed finish of the slide?
We are talking very light rub marks.

Give Simichrome polish a try, got nothing to lose. Some folks swear by it.

Personally, it was made to be a CCW not a safe Queen. I wouldn't sweat it. Granted it was only made by Colt, for a short production run. Always possible it could turn into a sleeper, collector wise because it's a Colt.

We found a 150 grit sanding sponge works to match the S&W stainless. You might try one to see what matches Colt. Just go lightly with them.

I use a worn green ScotchBrite pad and go lightly with the "grain' of the original finish. ScotchBrite pads are made in many grits so, if buying new pads, get the grit that best matches the original texture.
