Hello again.
Is it possible to find a model or any info from a Browning O/U 12gauge shotguns serialnumber.??? It is a cal 12/70 (2 3/4")
The engraving is a hunting-motif... but from what I can see, it isn't marked with a model.
Serial number is : 251PV12426

If possible, a couple of pictures might help jog the members memories.
Also when you remove the forearm there should be some proof marks as well as on the water table. Pictures of these marks might add a little more information to the story.
Best.
"made in belgium" + "Special steel"= superposed
That seems to be it. [:)]
PV = 1985 but the 251 prefix is not on their chart. Perhaps it is a Liege model made for the European market after it was discontinued in the US.
Best bet would be for you to contact FN, through their importer/distributor in Denmark.

look at ad for other superposed on GunBroker. and compare to your shot gun.
They said it was a Browning B125, from the serial-number. But must be an early model, as it wasn't marked B125 - or any other model-designation for that matter.
Receiver is "silver", barrels are blued, takedown latch is a long slender thingie at around 3" in length, and the forestock doesn't come off easy. (I'm sure there is a trick to it, but I haven't found it yet.)
Besides, it's my cousins gun, so I coudn't get back to you with pictures.
