Remington Model 11 questions

What makes a model 11 an old style i own an 11 serial number 785xxx. it is engraved as well.

Still don't know much about this gun.

From what I've read about the Model 11, the older ones have the safety inside the trigger guard. I found a website that can tell you the year yours was made. Check it out, it's pretty interesting.

Thanks for digging this up TRAP.

Mossy, is your gun actually engraved or is it roll stamped?
If engraved it would be at least a "D" grade gun. Remove the forearm and if you're comfortable with it the butt also. If indeed a graded gun there will be a D, E or F stamped into the wood in the inlet.

I'd be purdee tickled pink if the had made them through 1973. There'd be even more of these wonderfully rugged and reliable shotguns to be had.

Cowboy, wasn't me, Mossbergboogie resurrected this old thread with an edit. The link came from a discussion I was in on another forum. A youngster was asking about if his was C&R. He called Remington and was told it was made in 1973 by the serial number. I asked him if their time machine could send me back to 1948 too.[:)]
