Any idea of when my ex-police officer gun was made? It is a Colt Official Police .38spc. The serial # 871004 and it wears a 4 inch barrel. You guys have been so helpful in the past I just had to find out this info because I love the gun. Thanks in advance

There are no other issue markings.
Any info on the "Heavy Barrel" is appreciated.
Thanks

It has a 6"BBL, Bakelite grips and a lanyard loop, it has been reblued (pretty fair job for a gun that was edgy to start with.).What is it worth ? I can supply pix.
The markings are too cryptic for a presentation piece or a collectors factory order. But, I doubt that it has much value other than as a shooter.

Looks like it'll cost you a rather steep $75.00 from Colt to find where they originaly shipped it...might not even be of value to you if they shipped it to a store or dealer... You have a nice gun either way!
