Unertl Hawk: what MOA are the reticle adjustments?

I got a Unertl Hawk via GunBroker a while ago. No manual came with the scope.

I've tried Googling the answer, but I can't find anything.

What MOA are the scope's windage and elevation set at? 1 hash mark = 1 MOA @ 100 yards? 1/2 MOA? I don't think it's 1/4 MOA.

Thanks!
Jay

Well you know you could always put it on a gun and take it to the range and shoot a round or two...then crank in about ten or twelve "clicks" and see how much the group moves. Problem solved.

From Unertl literature: "Each division of the dial will change the point of impact 1 inch at 100 yards."

I found it in the 1972 Shooters Bible.

    Great, thank you!

Do you happen to have scans (or a link) for the literature?

That kind of info can be obtained from old Shooters Bible or Gun Digests if you have access to either of those pubs. Maybe a buddy has a few.

    leadslinger585,

The one I owned, IIRC, moved 1/2" horizontal and 1/2" vertical.

The 1978 Gun Digest confirms what Hawk Carse found in the 1972 Shooter's Bible, the windage and elevation adjustments in the Unertl Hawk are 1". That means the change of bullet impact for each click or increment on the dial is 1 inch at 100 yards range.

The shooters bible may tell you that, but I can tell you, impact did not move 1".

In any case, what does it really matter? Take the rifle to the range and shoot a 1" delineated target and see for yourself what it adjusts at. Both horizontal and vertical.
