Walther P-38 holster question

Are any after market holsters made for the Walther P-38 hand gun? The Military issues holsters are worthless for modern carry.

Many thousands of the surplus West German P 1's have been imported, over the years, since the 70's. They are essentially the same as the P 38, except for the alloy frame. I would do a GOOGLE search for P 1 holsters, if P 38 doesn't come up with anything.

EDIT #1, Like Charlie noted, a generic Uncle Mikes would probably be your best bet. I went that route myself. I bought one of their #4 belt holsters. The one with the leg tie down, for my 22's. It fits almost all of them, and works great when I'm out shooting.

The crappy quality plastic retainer buckle broke of course. But I replaced it with a mini bungie cord from Home Depot, that works better.

EDIT #2, I don't know where you live Garry? But anybody wearing a safari jacket in my neck of the woods during the summer. Would stand out in a bad way, as much as the folks with the fanny packs. Almost like you walking around with a sign saying, "I'm Packing", on your back. You would be way better off with a smaller handgun in a pocket holster. IMHO. No offense meant.

I would think that one of those generic fit Uncle Mike's would work.

Cheaper than dirt used to have a holster wizard that let you check what holsters thay have for that gun, but it looks like it is down. You could try their customer service number and see what models they have that'll work. (You don't have to buy from them, they certainly aren't cheaper than anything on ammo)

    +1 on P1 Holster

For a "field carry". Still not "quick draw" but has flap to provide protection for the pistol in the field.

If you mean the military issues leather holster, I am baffled by it. NO belt loops on them. I don't understand that. The pistol I have is a P-1 I just call it a P-38

I have the bund camo holster but it only works with the huge combat belt issued to German Infantry far as I know.

Shoulder Holster? I am not a hand gun guy so I don't even know how I feel about a regular holster let along a shoulder rig. How do you guys conceal in the summer heat?
