I am looking to have a hunting rifle in 308, 3006, and 223. I want 1/2 inch at 100 yds. If the rifle can do it, so can I on a good solid rest. What are the rifles that would do that, and price is a factor.I really like the ruger m77's. I got a 3/4" group out of my 3006 and am still refining the ammo.So what rifles do you suggest, and about what do they cost?ThanksEric

I've owned and seen lots that will do under an inch. I have seen damned few that will do less in hunting models. Try custom, still no guarantees. If your Ruger does 3/4, that all you need for game for as far out as you ought to be shooting at game. That is a good rifle.KC

Any custom shop you can link to from this site can build what you are looking for. But if you want to save some $$, Savage with the stainless fluted barrel is awesome.
