bought a mac 90 sporter a while back--today bought an almost identical gun as an ak-47---whats the difference!!!clips fit both--both norinco--only diffference is the llast one dosent have mac 90 sporter engraved on the side--7.62 cal of course--the ak has a 3 inch longer barrell and has a tripod and 50shot clip---what is this worth??? did some trading also got an m1 oh that 30 cal

    Don't quote me on this, but I'm 99% sure.There is no real difference, just a "newer" version of the AK. The AK had been the primary weapon for the Soviet military since 1947, ant the MAK-90 is the upgraded version. It could just be me, but I thought the MAK-90 was built for the .223 or 5.62NATO cartridge. That could be true and you have the 7.62 version.

    Well I'm far from an expert, but here's my stab at this question. From what I've seen at gun shows in the last six months or so is that true Mak-90's are getting few and far between (at least in this area). So someone is putting Mak-90 type thumbhole stocks on AK's to jack up the price. I've been searching for a MAK-90 myself for the last couple of months, that's how I know all of this. Most are either this lame attempt at getting more $$$ out of an SAR-1 (or other AK type) or extremely overpriced MAK's.-Marcus
