really need advice on scope for mini 14

want to buy a scope for my stainless mini 14 ranch rifle. But I know very, very little about scopes and if I am not careful I will just buy the first one that looks right and then later have to buy the "right" scope. I am hoping someone will be good enough to give me advice so I can get the right scope the first time. I want a stainless or silver colored since my gun is stainless. I like the scopes I have seen that allow the user to "zoom" in out and out quickly (kind of like an adjustable telephoto lens). I would llike to be able to see and hit a target at the maximum effective range of the mini 14. And, lastely, since I am so cheap I would like to not pay over $100.00. Any comments?

I have an KAC-556 with a red dot scope on it. Works great for quick target acquistion, but has no magnification. Probably not what you are looking for, but it works really well for my purposes.

Two hundred yards and in, under $100. Try Bushnell, you can catch Banner and Trophy models in that price range. Decent quality for the money.KC

I have a Redfield scope that I used to have on my Mini 14. It to was a stainless gun. It is Nickel colored witch matches perfectly with the Stainless steel. It is a Redfield 3-9 power scope. When I bought it new I paid around $225 -$250 for it. I'll sell it for $100. If you are interested you can give an email at cmoeller@wimberley.net.

I would stick with you open sights for this gun and spend your money on more ammo to shoot. You will probably be dissapointed with the guns accuracy.

Hadepuller, thanks for your view. I have already acted on some of the advice I have received and have ordered a scope. But I might very well find out you are correct.
