I am the fortunate owner of a .400 caliber double rifle (Cogswell & Harrison), which is very old, but in excellent mechanical condition. Could you please help me with as much information as possible re:Date or at least year of manufactureFor whom manufacturedFull technical spec. ie full description of caliber, lock, mechanism etcAny information on personnel who worked on this rifle if available ie engraver etcValue at time of manufactureEstimated value (if possible) of this rifle todayIs there a ready market for this weapon today in Europe and Great Britain? The markings on the rifle are as follows:A. Under the back end of barrel L6204B. Under side of rib between barrels 1322 - alternate possible number (as these are indistinct) 132ZC. Inside pistol grip on back tail of trigger guard 13899Proof marks: V with a crown on top P with a crown on topThe rifle could do with re-bluing and some clean up work on the stock and fore end. Would you recommend that this work be done, or should I leave it as it is?Your comments and information will be greatly appreciated.Looking forward to your early reply.Jim.
