Recoil on 10 vs 12 ga.

I dont know if anyone has read any of my other posts but I am considering buying a 10 gauge. I own a Winchester 1300 (12 ga.) and the recoil is fine on that. I was just wondering if a 10 ga. will be a lot worse. The gun I am looking at is a Zabala 10 ga and is considerably heavy. Thanks a lot.

They are not for jump shooting. I have a 3&1/2" SxS, used only for geese. It broke the finger that lays behind the trigger guard once. You definately need a shoulder pad unless you want to admire the black and blue marks. I understand they make a good turkey gun, too.

I am not sure what the gun you mention is BUT, I used my Brothers 12ga. 3 1/2 until he moved and I bought my 10. It is a 26" Browning bps in shadowgrass camo and a joy to shoot, the recoil is slightly more but, think of its potential. I am actualy taking it to N.M. next month on a gobbler hunt.Good LuckRich

I have owned 2 10 ga doubles and currentlly hunt waterfoul with a 870 3 1/2" 12 ga. The recoil on a 10 ga double will be considerably more than your 1300. I prefer the 3 1/2 " 12 ga. It is much more versatile. Be sure to check the chokes on the 1o ga. The majority of them were full and full or full and mod. Steel shot may be a problem in full choked barrels.
