I have a Uberti 45 Cattleman. When I fire the gun 5 to 6 times the cyl. begins to get tight, not so much that you can't fire it but enough that you can tell it. After a few minutes it,s back to normal.Anyone have a cure for the problem? Or Is this normal? I was also thinking of selling the gun and going with a Colt Cowboy, does anyone no anything about the Cowboy? Thanks

Check the cylinder / barrel gap. It could be dragging as things get warmed upCheck the cylinder rod / cylinder fit (clean / lube also)Last look at the cylinder fore & aft play (or lack of actually)It will most likly be one of those things)

Use an automotive feeler gage between the barrel end and the cylinder front. It should be .005 or more. With the .005 feeler gage in place see if a .060 feeler gage will fit between the cylinder rear and firing pin hole. If it is too tight, the rear of the barrel must be carefully and evenly stoned or filed until the gages go in. If the cylinder bushing is too long to prevent the .060 gage from entering then the bushing needs to be stoned down.

I think these gents have pretty well addressed your problem. The drag probably is a result of the cylinder metal expanding from heat and closing the barrel/cylinder gap. As stated by v35, a careful inspection of the gap and cylinder bushing length, followed by a careful stoning should solve the problem. As for Uberti vs. Cowboy, I think you'll find little overall difference in quality.
