Can anyone tell me what a Colt 1860 percussion revolver, serial 5xxx (fair condition), missing the loading lever is possibly worth? The serial number matches on all parts. Thanks.Additional info...it's an 1860 Army,.44 cal, 8" barrel. No scene on the cylinder. On the top of the barrel it says "address Col. Sam Colt, New York, USA". It has the original grips with USA engraved on one side and LMK (person who it was issued to?) on the other. Thanks for responding.3/5: The history check with Colt sounds like a great idea, thanks. Appreciate all the responses.[This message has been edited by rocktorrey (edited 03-03-2002).][This message has been edited by rocktorrey (edited 03-03-2002).][This message has been edited by rocktorrey (edited 03-05-2002).]

Is this a Navy pistol, Army pistol? What Cal. is the gun, does it have a scene on the cylinder? What lenth is the barrell? Some of these guns are worth lots of money while others are not.You will have to post more info.Always check with a good dealer before selling one of these guns.

A letter to Colt, and paying their research fee, would probably do wonders, particularly if you send the serial number and a Polaroid. Good luck.
