2 1/2in 20 ga shotshell reloadsl

have a great old english shotgun that is chambered for 2 1/2" loads. i know i could legnthen the chambers but could a person take a 2 3/4 case trim it and run it through a standard reloader with sucessful results with die adjustments etc. im new to shotgun reloading. im wondering about the crimp etc.

    I've never tried it on *plastic* cases, but with roll crimped paper ones, it works just fine. The headache is likely to be the wads. Those designed for plastic shells typically come up nearly to the crimp line for a given shell, so likely you'd have to trim them as well. I don't know if they are still available, but Fiocchi used to import 2.5" shells to the US market. Unless you plan to shoot the firearm a lot, this might be a cost effective option for you. I picked up 3 boxes for resale at a show last summer quite reasonably, so they are still in circulation, if not easily found at low ball prices.
