I know the mini is not the most accurate rifle but looking to put a scope on it to help my bad eyes see 100yds out. I am considering a Simmons White Tail Classic 4.5X14X40. Any thoughts on this choice or power? Any other good choice in similar price range around $150? Thanks, GD

I am going to purchase a scope for my ranch mini 14. I have been looking at a few BSA's and was wondering what results the forum has seen from the BSA's

    Thanks

My wife bought me a mini 14 ranch rifle for Christmas. I want to put a scope on it and would like it to match the finish on the rifle. The rifle is ss with a walnut stock. I would like to install a good quality scope. Not the top of the line and not a cheap POS. Your feedback in this matter is appreciated.

    thanks

Scope choice is very personal and should relate to what you are shooting at and how far. My personal choice for my mini is a fixed 6X compact. It looks good on the rifle (here's where the personal comes in) and still has a good field of view. Most shooters use the mini as a utlily gun or plinker therefore a general purpose scope serves well. By the way, don't under estimate the Rugers accuracy, mine will do 5/8" at 100 yds. This is unusal but possible. The early mini's were terrible. Later guns are much better.
