Do Beretta "United we Stand? etchings wear off?

I want to buy the Beretta 96fs limited edition "United we Stand" Inox Stainless, but I've been told that the laser etchings of the american flag and words "United we Stand" will come right off the gun if you use the wrong type of cleaner. Is this true, and if so, what type of cleaner would prevent this? Any thoughts are appreciated.
