I like the look of the H&K 91. With what they cost, if I got one it better cook, clean, and do laundry also, 'cause my wife sure as hell wouldn't any more. Any suggestions on an alternative?

    ditto, the clones are OK but just OK. there is absolutely, positively, no comparison to the original desing by the people who invented it. save your money until you can buy it and keep the wife happy. The only similar one I would try would be a real FN-FAL. But, given a choice, I would save for an extra year if I had to.

    If you get a clone, you won't be happy and you'll just end up buying it later, save your money, don't tell the wife how much it really cost, works for me.

    Harleeman1030, One thing about the Genuine HK, their not bringing any more in ... clones are a dime a dozen as proof by their wholesale prices ... $389 or so. A Genuine HK-91 beatup and shot out will still bring $15-$1600 while a nice one will bring $2000+ depending on accessories, its been this way for about 4 years now ... look at it this way:"Honey, Its an investment!"

    I agree with most. If you can afford it, buy the original. If you MUST get a clone, the best and most accurate I have seen is at www.specialweaponsllc.com. Not the cheapest clone, but truly the best I've seen.

    Getting the "real deal" would be nice, but if you "just like the looks", get any of the clones as mentioned above. Keep the current wife happy because your "next" wife might not want you to have "any" guns at all. GD
