I would say about 1200 to 1500. It depends on who really wants a commemorative as well.

Funny-I keep hearing people say that Pythons are bringing anywhere from $650.00 to $850.00(the Blue Book value is around $450.00 for a 98%+ unit). The thing is,I keep going to gun shows over and over, and I keep seeing the same Pythons(and other Colts)sitting on the same dealers' tables, with the same over-inflated price tags.Haven't met anyone who's bought one at those prices yet.Of course, commemoratives are different-they always bring a premium-usually you can get a high price if you find the right customer.

I've seen lots FOR SALE at $850, $950, $1100, $1200. I've seen them SELL for $350 in fair condition, and $500 or $600 for good condition, and recently saw a couple sell in great condition for $750 & $800. I know of two right now for $600, one is a 4" and the other a 6". They are both in good condition, maybe %90 at most. The 4" has a black spot on the side of the frame, I don't know if it is a touch up, blemish, or maybe some type of adhesive from a gun case. The 6" has a rough spot about the size of a dime on the outside of the barrel, it might polish out. Isn't Colt making the Python right now for around $1100?Roy

Less than a year ago I swapped off a blue 4in. Python (circa '71), plus a couple hundred boot, for an AR15 type rifle. It was a stock handgun, complete with minor holster wear, except for a red ramp front sight and Hogue grips. I got a Bushmaster LE carbine with el cheapo scope, nylon case, 6 GI mags. and 120 rds. of factory ball ammo. That's what my Python was worth to me and the buyer.
