Can a fa-mas be had in the U.S.? If so, where would one be found?

    Unlikely--as this is the current official French military rifle, and has full automatic capability. The place to start your search would be a Class 3 dealer.

    A few semi-automatic versions were imported (by Century as I recall)before the 1989 import ban. They are rare and expensive by my standards($5,000+). One was offered on these boards some time ago, but did not meet its reserve as I recall (much more than $5,000 as I recall).
