Para Ordnance Help Wanted

Has anyone shot the Para Ordnance C6.45 LDA? It's their compact carry 45 DAO with the Light Double Action trigger.

I want a better carry weapon and am considering the Para Ord along with the Glock 36 and the Kahr P40.

Money aside, I'm leaning toward the Para. It sure has a sweet trigger pull.

Anybody have any experience with this weapon?

    I have no experience with the C6,45LDA. But for the other LDAs after I got used to the P16LDAs trigger I was hooked. Plus I like the Hi Cap Mags that are availiable. The Canadians mastered this gun and I really think they will stay on top of things if their laws allow so. It may take a bit of getting used to if your a 1911 fan.

    I currently shoot a DA/SA decocker and I like the shortend trigger after the initial long pull on my Ruger KP95.

    By the way.......Anyone else find it amusing that a company in Canada (where citizens are not allowed to own a handgun) produces some of the finest, top quality 1911 style handguns around? Gotta love liberals all the world over!

    Oh it hurts to say this because I love my 1911s, but, the G36 would probably be a better choice for a "carry" gun. I have a P14 LDA and love it but don't have any experience with the C6. Still like my little Colt Defender for carry though.

    I have both the Para-Ordnance LDA's and the single actions. I can honestly say that Para builds some of the best 1911's on the market. I love the LDA action, but to be fair, it doesn't really fit my style of shooting. I don't know how you work your trigger, but on double action auto's, I squeeze the round off, hold the trigger during the recoil and rechamber, then ease the trigger out slowly until I feel the sear drop, then begin the squeeze process again. You can't do that on the LDA's. With them, you have to release the trigger (past two clicks) then do a full pull back to thehammer release position. This takes a lot of practice, and it is no good for competition shooting with me. After about 500 rounds of practice, I was fairly used to the trigger, and after about 5000 rounds, I was able to fire it proficiently. But, even after all of that, it takes me the first couple of shots to get back in the groove of firing it. For that reason, it is not my carry gun, but is my target gun. I think you should try renting on and run 50 to 250 rounds through it and see if it suits you shooting style.

    The Kahr is a good gun, I'm anti-Glock for safety and design reasons, but would suggest you look at a Beretta 96 in .40 S&W, if you are wanting a double action auto. I like the DA setup (not DAO) on the Beretta's and the Smith's best.
