HK 40 USP compact question

My friends a cop and he wants to sell me a used but perfect condition (one of the first batches) HK 40 USP compact with: night sights, 3 LE mags and 1 reg mag plus $50.00 holster for $550.00.
I know this guy well and I know the pistol hasnt been shot much and he takes good care of his weapons. I think the price is fair but are the newer models superior in any way or can I find this same deal anywhere?

OK I'll bite. Not a bad price on the gun, especially if it has the LEM trigger group. STAY AWAY FROM THE MAGS. He may be your buddy now but come for you later.

I have one of the older models....Great gun, accurate, reliable. I
purchased mine used from a LEO buddy. Three Mags, no hi-caps....
Tell him to keep the High caps as you can not own them unless you are an LEO. Without the High Caps, the gun should sell for closer to 475-500....Good luck

the only difference that I know of with the newer guns is that they have an integral lock on the latest ones. Stay away from the mags as that is a big NO NO.

Now that "that" is settled; is he dumping his gun so he can pick up the LEM model? My LEM is sooo much better than the regular trigger. They are now available at a price close to what he's asking for his used one.

Go new for the same price. You can get it with 8# or 5# trigger.

Since you are an LEO, I would think you might be able to get a new one via one of those LEO deals some of the big suppliers offer...Just a thought....

Hi I am thinking of buying a usp compact in 9mm. What is the LEM trigger and is it on all new usp compacts? Also what do you think of the gun? Any others to compare it to?
