bipods

i just saw a bipod that mounts rigidly to the barrell of the gun. how does this affect accuracy. i was under the impression that a rigid mount to the bbl, would throw off the harmonics of the bbl, and decrease accuracy....

am i off base with that thought?

I am looking for a Bipod to place on my BAR .270 for range shooting. All I have seen are B-square, Harris and Versa-pod found in Cabelas and Bass Pro. Are there any other choices that I should consider that my be less expensive, but still tilt and swivel? All help Is appreciated.

I've been using one of the Harris bipods since 1975!! Still working perfectly. I know they cost but they are quality. If you want one of the long (tall) models I have one that I don't use. Let me know if you're interested. GHD

I think the answer is no if you buy one for your gun its like a good beagle you have a friend for life. I dont think under normal conditions you can wear one out.

    Good Luck.

Look at the ones with the swivel base. I like them better out in the field, they are nice on unlevel ground.

go to the want ads and ask for a used one someone posted that they had one for around $50

Have a Harris 1A2 Ultralight, which are 8" and extend to 12". will take $55 shipped to lower 48. This bipod has never been on a gun. Email rektrap@pa.net
i was $5 off sorry here is his email though

I have the Harris 13" to 24" that I no longer use. Will give it to anybody that e-mails and says they will reimburse for the shipping cost. First come, first served.

I still have mine but ain't giving it away!! Allen what else do you have to give away for shipping? I know you're giving the Whelen away, just wondered what else you might have laying around! If you ever get out of the frozen North and come south look me up. GHD

i have a versa pod that i like. it swivels so it is easy to keep gun on the level on uneven ground. you can buy the mount by itself so you can easly remove the bi pod and put on another gun in seconds. i cant say any thing about harris because i have never used one.
