I was wondering if anyone has seen one of these rifles (chambered for 45/70). The one I'm looking at is in mint condition (does not have the box). What would something like this be worth?

Save your money and buy the real mccoy. Commemoratives and reproductions, although they are real nice and pretty, you can't beat the real thing.
The real thing is the way to go, even some of the old beat up ones in a lot lesser condition will be more desireable than some of the repro's, and bring more money.
To give you an example, I bought an old Winchester 86, in 45/70 cal about 20 years ago. The barrel had been cut and 1/2 rounded to 20" and the magazine tube shortened. It has about 80% case color and excellent wood. I paid around 250.00 for it back then, yesterday at a gun show, a collector offered me 2000.00 for it, knowing it wasn't all original.I turned him down.
If you keep your eyes open, you can still find an occasional Win 86 at a decent price, and it will Never go down in value.
