sticking bolt on win 70 SA

the bolt binds on my win 70 in 300 wsm. basically the bolt will only go in without binding if it goes straight in. pressure from pushing the bolt handle straight (in line with the receiver) will cause the bolt to cock at an angle and bind. in this poaition the bolt won't even move. has anyone else had this problem?
any suggestions are appreciated.

Simple question, have you installed scope bases yet? If so, remove them and then try the action. If all works fine then shorten the screws. Only a suggestion.

I have a new Win. 70 in 338 on the shelf and the bolt binds on that also, if I put pressure on the bolt to the right center. That is, if I grip the bolt and push to the right the bolt will not move forward. However, if I open my hand and use the open palm to close the bolt there is no problem as any pressure would apply to the left. If this is not the case with your rifle I would return it either to my dealer or to Winchester
