GHD's daughter scores first confirmed kill!!!!

At 12:14PM EDT I shot a groundhog with the 17HRM at a confirmed distance of 202Yards. That was a big moment. Not nearly as big as the happening of 6:32PM EDT. My 13 year old daughter whom you all have read about shooting her xp made her first confirmed (I had to reach WAY down in the den to drag it out) kill on a groundhog!!!! 90 yards, not with her xp but the 17HRM!!!! She is hooked!! I've waited for this for 10 years!! Now if I could only get her mom to try it!!!!! The funny thing will be when she shows the pictures to her member of HCI grandmother in S.C.!!!!!! She wants to go hunting tomorrow!! She also wants me to sell her xp and get her a 17 of her own!!!! We'll see how long that lasts. I asked her what she planned to hunt deer with this fall. She said she'd use my xp in 7BR!! Kids have an answer to anything! But tonite I'm a happy dad!!!! GHD

    Congratulations to her, and you. You must be a proud Dad. I wish my Daughter would take an interest in shooting and hunting. She'll go shooting with me, but it's a rare occassion.

    Awesome. Wish my daughter would go with me. She sounds like her mother when she refers to my prized possesions as crap( guess since most of mom's crap is crap she's gotta label my stuff something). Women.

    Way to go GHD and your daughter!!! I too take my daughters (age 8 & 13) shooting and they have a blast at the range. I wish more people take their kids shooting.

    congrats. I just took my 6 year old groundhog hunting today. she was in charge of the "spotting" with the binocs. we didn't shoot a groundhog but we saw turkeys (with babies) and deer. she had a blast. even if she decides not to shoot one day when she old enough, it was time well spent-together.
