Ruby Extra .38 Long Revolver

I received a Father's Day gift of a "50-70's" vintage .38 Long Ruby Revolver. I asked for a pistol that I could turn into a "project gun" and fix up, but not to much fixing up, mostly just cosmetic work. My wife selected this oldish Ruby Extra Revolver. It has mis-matched grips, well worn blue in the typical holster area (especially on the right side plate where it looks like a brass or aluminum "snap-back" rested for many years. Other than that the Blue looks really good. It is an all steel pistol and looks like it is a part-for-part clone of a S&W Model 10 or 13. It functions like a champ with the cylinder more stable than my "well-loved" Taurus 66. I am basically looking for information on it, had never heard of "Ruby" before I got this one, I believe Ruby was a sub-division of Llamma. I would greatly appreciate any information anybody could provide. SN 53XXXX.

P.S. Yes, I do know that I can not shoot .38 specials through a .38 Long even though they will "chamber". Not being "snitty" it is just I hear that everytime I get or buy or even look at a .38 Long revolver for my collection.
