Well, I know there is a single shot and clip version of the same rifle. There is a heavy barrel Communist orgin rifle out there too, I believe Romanian, but it bears no resemblence to the ones from the 60s.

I bought one of the Romanian training rifle, Mine came from Gun Broker. The last thing I needed was another .22 but the stock was in good shape and the rifling is cut as deep as a good high powered rifle. When I really was impressed was when we started shooting it. It shot like a target rifle. As far to anything simular to it Im not aware of it. But Gun Broker still has some of these rifles. You might want to check it out there a real seller in my area.

    Good Luck.

I just saw one in 22 magnum, first time I have every seen one of those, I am not sure if it is a custom job or if it actually came from Romania.

    There were actually 3 models.
1st there was the "Cugir". A full size single shot .22LR rifle based on the Mauser design. There were 2 models of this, differing in types of sights. One was basic, the other a target model.
These were replaced by the M-69 clip fed repeater.
I don't believe any were factory in .22Mag. But some people, including myself have converted the Cugir rifles to .22Mag.
More trouble than it was worth IMO. I sold mine. Maybe you saw it.
