Removable mag that holds 7 or 8 rounds. it has the words "F. L. S f l b stlader and under that D. R. G. M. 625263-633251 and a s/n 43395 Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The pistol was produced by Langenhan in Germany between the wars. There are a few variations and I think that yours is one of the later types which had a modification made to the right side of the frame to correct a weakness in the design and has an updated trigger. It was an awkward looking pistol that really offered no clear advantage over anything else on the market and I don't think that they were made in huge numbers.

We have some members who are experts in European pistols so hopefully one of them will be along to give you more info and a value. I am guessing that while this is not a really common pistol, it is also not going to be worth enough money for you to retire [;)]

As Mark states... also if your gun holds 8 rounds, it is the "army" model and should have a 108mm barrel {4"]. If it holds six rounds then it is a model "1" or "2" and should have a 73mm or 80mm barrel.
If it is an Arny model, those are the ones with the bad barrel/action link that flys apart if it gets loose. Not much value to any of them.

Ian Hogg wrote a really good piece about the Langenhan. I have both versions and while that shoot okay it is imperative to monitor and keep the breechblock retaining screw tightened.
The pistol was made during the war and that particular version was never produced commercially although other Langenhan models were.
Value? Hard to say without photos. Base price is $140 or so up to about five for an early model (Which I cannot determine from your description).
If you can get ahold of Hogg's German Handguns, you can learn alot.

ADDENDUM: Production started about 1915 and ended in 1918.

Certain U.S. collectors seek out Imperial German handguns that were used during the First World War, and have military acceptance markings. Usually this acceptance marking consists of a single "Fractor" German Letter under a Crown. These photos off the net show the military acceptance markings on the Fritz Langenhan pistol. If your pistol is similarly marked and in very good original condition, it might have value to a collector.

My pistol does have the markings that are in the pictures that rufe-snow posted and my pistol is 100% better than the one in the picture!

At this point we know what it is, now it is up to you to put up some photos so that we can all learn more about it. If you do not know how to post a photo then please check the stickies at the topof the forum page for instrucitons.

This is a photo of the late version. The early version has an exposed ejection port where you see all the writing above the grip.
