Remington 870 Question

I have a used Remington 870 WingMaster shotgun that I would like to install a synthetic stock and forearm on.
I don't know as much as I would like to about this shotgun, so I am kind of in the dark, as to how I would go about installing the stock / forearm.
Is this an easy enough of a procedure? Can anyone walk me through this?
Thanks in advance!!
The "ONLY" bad thing about owning "A GUN" is...not owning two or more!

870's no number on barrel. Is the deluxe the only one with
ser no on barrel and receiver[8D]
If I get a short barrel(Riot type)Remington 870,
can it be used also as a hunting shotgun?
Or do I need to also get a long barrel shotgun
to effectively hunt for game birds and such?

The Bismuth, is different than the "Heavy Shot". The Bismuth is just that, made out of Bismuth, and is only around 87% as dense as lead. It can be used in the conventional choke restrictions, normally assosciated with lead.
The "Heavy Shot", are mostly all denser than lead, and are all Tungsten based. Either Tungsten matrix, or Tungsten Polymer. This heavy shot, should not be used in the normal restrictions, used for lead shot. However, the choke restrictions, reserved for steel, can be used with the Tungsten based shot. Chokes for lead will work, but you should never use any choke for lead with a tighter than modified choke with steel or Tungsten.

Yes, that makes a difference. Any barrel that has the Rem-Choke system will be good to go for steel, or Heavi-Shot, with the appropriate choke tubes.

It doesn't hurt to have a smoothbored barrel around unless you've got other shotguns for scattergun tasks.
A 2 3/4in SB as mentioned will work but I'd go w/the 3in mag should you ever want to go that way in the future, myself.
Gun shows will be sprouting soon unless you can afford to drop some pennies at your local dealer.
