If you're referring to the ones in .223/5.56 X 45? Extremely rare in the US. They were imported just at the time Bill Clinton banned the importation of Chinese rifles & pistols, circa 1992/93? My understanding most actually chambered in .223/5.56 X 45, wound up in Canada.

I've been looking for one for years. Never so much as ever laid my eyes on one.

Not sure I understand the reference to .22 cal.

Every SKS I've ever seen was chambered in 7.62x39, and I've never heard of one that wasn't.

Edit (responding to above). Wow. . .I had no idea these were ever made in .223 (5.56x45). Like Rufe I've never seen one, and I'd imagine they're incredibly scarce. As an actual gun, I doubt they're that interesting, but as a collector's item, I'd imagine they're probably highly desirable.

Have no idea what kind of magazine would come on something like this, but if I were designing one from scratch (which I'm not), I'd design it to take the standard detachable AR-15/STANAG magazines.

What kind of magazine does yours have?

Grabbed this image from another site. Apparently this takes something similar to the standard fixed SKS magazine; it may even be the same.

You sure it's not a JW 14? Like this one off the net.

If it's not? Please post some quality photos. There have been many replica .22 military rifles made over the years. It wouldn't be surprising if the Chinese made a .22 SKS replica.

Since Chinese rifles have been prohibited from being imported and sold in the US for 20 years. Perhaps it's a model no one here in the US is familiar with?

Forum rules dictate locking threads at ten posts so please open a PART TWO. Also, please combine your photos into a single post because each counts as one of your allotted ten. The ten post rule is long standing in this forum (it is not a reflection on your thread) and was instituted by our founder Capt. Kirk so it can't be waived.
