How is the rod removed from the stock?

    The Type 38 (Like the Type 99) has a small release, just a little aft of the muzzle on the bottom. You press it up and pull the rod forward.

    The Type 44 is a two piece rod stored in the butt. You rotate the access door lever 90 degrees to open the door.

    Or do you have a Type I or Type 30?
