Scope base question

I have a Hart number 1 plain action. It is 1.400 inches in diameter. Does anyone make a scope base for it? The Remington 700 is close but the Remington 700 is smaller in diameter and so the base doesn't quite fit. Little gap in the middle.

    5mmgunguy,

Remington actions are 1.350" so the base will be a tad small in diameter for the 1.400" Hart action.

The call I would make is to Hart to get their offerings. Then follow their lead to other manufacturers. Most of these will be custom so be prepared for a bigger price tag.

    Best.

I made one to fit a 1022 by wrapping fine sandpaper around it and working it until if fit [;)][:)]

If you lap the base to fit the receiver, be sure to lap the rings...
