I have not owned them all, but I would say that the Sig Sauer P238 is the most reliable that I have owned. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

It would be best if you describe what exactly what you need it for? And how you intend to carry it.

There quite a number of small .380's on the market now. Most but not all, specifically made for CCW purposes.

EDIT #1, No offense meant to the guys carrying Walther .380's. But considering the size of the small 9mm's, that are on the market now. You might reconsider your choice.

hi,,,i have the lcp with crimson trace,,,undetectable in the front pocket of jeans, cargo pants,or dress pants,,,invisible in a blue-jean inside pocket or outside sports jacket pocket,,,also invisable in a holster with a pulled out t-shirt,,,i reload for mine and at 10 yards about an 1 and 1/2 or 2 inch group with the crimson trace,,,a little larger with open sights,,,it goes every where i go,and NEVER had a FTF or FTE,,,great little pocket pistol,,, [:D][:D][:D]

I've only owned one personally since 1992 and it's never failed to feed, fire, or eject. With those attributes to it's credit, I see no reason to look at anything else.
A stainless steel Interarms produced Walther PPk.

Kahr 380 after 200 rounds. Which Kahr says you need to do.

I have a pair of North American Guardian .380's, a Kahr and a Walther PPK Stainless (German production). The Guardians are a little heavy, but very small and fully reliable - trigger pull is DA only and rather heavy. The Kahr is more expensive, but worth the price and very light. Both of these are "fire-fight-in-a-phone-booth" designs. The Walther is very well made and is easier to hit with at longer ranges. It is the largest and heaviest of the the three types. Each has its merits and down-sides, that's why I still have all three. Try several and buy the one that suits your needs and feels best to you.

S&W Body Gaurd, would be my answer for the sole fact, that I dislike a single action like the Colt Mustang, or Sig-238, for something that you can put into your pocket. The P-3AT, is mostly what Ruger copied the LCP from. While somewhat reliable, they do not have a second strike capability like the Body Guard.

You actually have to go and try some of these out to determine which is best for you.

I've tried the LCP and found it felt too narrow for my hand when shooting it. I thought the Sig 380's while light were a little too bulky. My experience with Kahr's reliability wasn't pleasant and I got rid of it.

I have a Walter PPK in stainless that I carry. It is heavier than most, but I'm comfortable with it and it points well for me.

    Mine is number 006XX.

Ruff, I understand what you're saying but I'd never buy a mustang with a 400hp engine in it. It not a platform that I would feel comfortable driving with that much power. In addition, my own personal test and calculations prove to me anyway that out to fifty yards, there is little difference between 9mm and .380 with standard factory ball ammo. While I have shot at fleeing thieves in an automobile at almost 100 yards where a 9mm would have had the edge, most encounters that I've used it have been 20 feet or less. Besides, it's paid for![:p]
