PPK won't stay open after last shot

I have a new ppk/s .32. It worked fine for 500 rounds. However, now it won't lock open after last round fired. It will do it on an empty mag every time, but it wasn't doing it after the last shot, as it should. Also, I noticed that around the same time, it doesn't like to "grab" that first round off the mag when I racked the slide. These are factory mags I am using and Winchester loads. These two problems occurred around the same time. Any thoughts?

Have you tried a drop of oil on the pivit of the hold-open? If it is dry it may be dragging just enough not to allow the follower to push it up into position.Another question: Does it do it with different magazines?... or is the problem associated with one mag?

Another thing: Make sure it is clean under the hold-open. Since the hold-open rubs against the frame, a piece of grit (foreign matter) can get under it and cause it to drag. Just a thought.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of the workings of the PPK, but if it is similar to a lot of others, it could be a weak spring in the magazine that doesn't push the hold-open lever hard enough after the last shot. It has to jump up there pretty quickly. If you're just pulling the slide back by hand, the lever can take a relatively long time to get into position and still make it.
