Pistol Shooter's "aperture" sighting aid

Out at the not-so-local range yesterday I was talking to another wheelgunner who mentioned a device his eye doctor had suggested, for use with glasses he'd had made to allow the old eyes to focus on his pistol's sights, yet still permit a clear target view. Basically sounds like something that attaches to eyeglass frames and has a wheel with various diameter small holes (apertures) that function much like a pinhole camera lens.I dislike resorting to 2x 'scopes on the pistols I prefer, if only because of the added weight.I've looked thru all my goodies catalogs & have yet to see something like this. Anyone ever seen or know where I might inquire about buying something like this?

You're describing a "Merit Optical Attachment". Gil Hebard used to sell them, but I don't know who does now.Neal

Merit Optical Corp. Box 9044 Schenectady, N.Y. 12309 518-346-1420 www.meritcorporation.com You may be able to get it a little cheaper thru your local dealer. I believe they run about $65.00 from Merit
