I have a Remington 700 ML (black powder inline) and I have seen alot of talk about long and short action on the Mdl 700. I have been thinking about puting a new stock on my rifle and thought this might make a differance. Thanks in advance!Jim

The long or short action references are for the two different categories of centerfire cartridge lengths...SA examples are .223, .243LA examples are .30-06, .264 magnumThe model 700 muzzleloader has the same look & feel of the "short action" design of the Model 700 rifle; However, I don't know if you can simply conclude that the ML action & barrel will just "drop in" a conventional short actionstock...I'd suggest you call Remington at 1-800-243-9700 and ask to discuss it with someone...

Mr. Lobo, I would doubt that you could "drop-in" the muzzle loader in a stock. I suspect that the barrel is to large for most forends.KC
