After your first time out with the Benelli, you'll compare your Beretta to a 2 X 4.There's nothing to compare to the smooth action and simplicity of the Benelli Inertia System.

Spring Creek hit the nail on the head. There is nothing in the Benelli class.

Beretta may be the importer, but the design is benelli. The machines are set to produce guns to benelli specs, not beretta, not that beretta is not a great product. It is simply an import issue, the benelli is the be all-end all semi auto shotgun. They are still the same gun as they were when HK imported them. The HK's are more collectible, but that don't fill the freezer.

I may be wrong on this but I don't think the Beretta's can shoot the 2&3/4, 3 & 3&1/2 inch magnums from the same gun. The Super Black Eagle can & does it very well. I have had mine for about 6 years & love it. Its the true "everything shotgun". RG[This message has been edited by rg666 (edited 03-11-2002).]

The 390 wont take a 3.5 however the new extrema will, I still however prefer the Benelli's. I also have a rem 1187 SuperMag and it works great also. With the barrel seal activator in place it will also shoot light 3/4 oz loads. Not a bad gun, but its real heavy.

There is no comparison of the Benelli action to anything else out there!! The same company owns Beretta, Benelli and Franchi but the Benelli action is UNIQUE!! The only thing that might come close to this action is Remingtons SP 10. One of these days the other guys will wake up and make actions close to the Benellis.

there is an action that is close, it is the Browning Gold. It is based on the inertia recoil of the benelli, and although I personaly would not favor it over the benelli, it is a very nice action and leaps ahead of brownings other products. I have seen and shot one, it is impressive for not being a benelli.
