Kimber/Mauser Rifles?

What is the story on the Mauser model 96 rifles sporterized/customized by Kimber? Do they still do these? What barrel and stocks are used on these? Are they pretty nice and good shooters? I think I saw one of these at a gun show a few years back, and of course it was gone by the time I decided to buy it. As, I recall it was very nice. What would I expect to pay for one these days (can't find it in any of my gun books)?

Bought one for a brother in-law in heavy stainless fluted 22-250. I think it was around $400 6yrs ago. He still shoots it today!

I bought one a few years back--synthetic, stainless heavy fluted barrel. It was a beauty in 7mm Mag. I bought it because it was so dirt cheap (new for $300 here on GB). However, it wasn't the caliber I truly wanted so I traded it evenly on a $400 gun and the shop turned around and sold it for close to $600. I keep my eyes peeled for these babies and will snatch up the next one I can get my hands on. Glass bed the action and you should get better than MOA from them.
