AdamsQuailHunterI saw your previous post and you got me interested in the Savage over/under. Are they still manufactured? I did a search and could not find any new ones. If not what is the value for a used one that I could use to hunt with. Cosmetics don't need to be great but the barrel needs to be good.Jim

Mr. Lobo What a considence: Where I work the "mascott" is the "Timberwolf".I am sorry to report to you, that neither the Savage 333 nor the Savage 444 is still in production. (The Savage 333 was made in Finland and the Savage 444 was made in Italy.)Believe me, as old "f@%t", with nearly 50 sea cons of hunting behind me, these are fine shotguns, *IF* they fit you.You *MUST* absolutely be sure that they fit *FIT* you. If so, you will not find an O/U that is any better for the task that you ask it to do for you. Please do *NOT* ask the 20 gauge to be a "waterfowl" machine for you, it is *NOT* a "waterfowl" machine. Both were exreemly well made O/U's even though conteninents apart. Believe me --- as an old "fa#$T" with 50 years of experience behind me, (1) what you plan to do with is is veeeeeey important. (2) It must fit *YOU* as a custom made suit, otherwise, you will never be happy with it. I don't care if it is a $100.000 Rizinni, unless it fits *YOU"*, you will never be happy with it.If and only if, the shotgun "fits" you will it be acceptable, you must try it, if you can get to try it on the range with clay birds before the sale
the best possible option. Please don't ask a 20 gauge shotgun to do the work that a 10 gauge shotgun is designed to do do!!!!!!!Sincerely yours AdamsQuailHunter on GunBroker

Thanks for the input. I will be looking for a 12 gauge, which for my uses is the best all around shotgun. If you hear of any please let me know. Oh yeah, the Wolf comes from the Lobo mountain range that I used to hunt as a boy. Great memories!Jim

Hi Mr. Lobo: just took my female bird dog, outside for the last time this evening and saw your post.Believe me ---- the Savage 333 or Savage 444 is more than up to any task you care to give to it as a "fieldgun" provided you stay within the limitations it was designed for.My Best To YOU AND YOUR'S [This message has been edited by AdamsQuailHunter (edited 03-17-2002).]
