I just picked up a 10/22 target. What additions are a nice and which are a must to build a nicer tack driver. Thanks in advance for your help.Jim

Usually you will find that most people do at least 2 things....1.) Change out the trigger assembly, bolt, extractor and so on in favor of clark or volquartsen parts2.) invest in a really nice powerful scopeif you really want to go nuts you can change out the barrell with one of Volquartsens or clarks once again, and get a new stock (thumbhole, adjustable butt)

Thank you both! I have not heard of a tuned clip. More info please. It sounds like a better trigger is a must. What is wrong with the stock bolt, extractor and so on? I shot the rifle yesterday and the trigger seemed smooth but was to heavy and long.Jim[This message has been edited by Mr. Lobo (edited 03-16-2002).]

I'm no competition shooter, but I like my groups. I have heard that as you shoot, the barrel heats up, expands, and lifts your barrel SLIGHTLY, causing poor shots. I got a BC carbon fiber barrel. It stays cool even after a rapid fire frenzy. I put a hogue OM stock on mine. Not as nice as the target wood stocks, but it feels great and looks nice.I agree with the trigger job or trigger assembly, because the pull is heavy.

Although it doesn't have anything to do with accuracy, I like the extended mag release and auto bolt release ... also had a friend "Jewel" my bolt which isn't necessary but kind of cool and something you dont see on many 10-22's ... plus he did it for free! (he had just got his jewling jig and wanted something to practice on ... turned out great)

If you really desire something, you'll find a way ?
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.
