A friend of mine's deceased father brought this double back from the European theatre after the war. I can't identify it from my reference books. Help on identity and approximate value. It's a 12 ga. hammerless double, boxlock, case-hardened,straight stock(very dainty), splinter foreend, looks to be at least 26 line checkering, swivels, long top and bottom tangs, heavily engraved on receiver, barrel butts, and screws in tangs and trigger screws. Barrel flats are stamped "Acier Comprime". Chokes are rt) 18.4, (L) 18.3. "W H Choke-Recife" is stamped in a circle on both flats. S/N is 1xxx, and only proof marks are a crown over PT, not unlike the one on page 1582 of the Blue Book under French proofs. Condition is 70% case and blue, and 60% wood.
