Gonna ask once more- FEG PA-63 problem

My gun often does not chamber the round all the way, requiring a bump on the slide to do the job. Quite annoying, it does this with all brands of ammo and reloads. A smith checked it out and was stumped; feed ramp, mag, barrel, chamber, bolt face, all fine. The mainspring is quite tight and strong. What is the problem?
Question two: my slide stop never works. For those of you who own one of these, do yours work? Is the slide stop supposed to dump out when you strip the gun? Is it just the one piece or am I missing something? Thanks,
Jon

I have used: Wolf FMJ copper washed steel, Sellier and Bellot, Federal, and reloads with Starline using cast lead and SJFP. All have the same problem.
The slide is a bit sticky, but moves freely so long as you don't baby it- that is, if you ease it shut it might catch, but if you let it slam, it will shut all the way. Why it jams with a round then is something else. Is the recoil spring the main spring that fits around the barrel or is it another smaller spring? What do you mean by binding? Thanks,
Jon
