A friend of mine came across a Remington 514 Single Shot Bolt Action. The barrel says "Routledge" on it. It for shooting 22 Shot, the chamber and about 1/2 of the barrel are normal 22 size, but about half way up the barrel, it opens up to about 410 barrel size. Was it a Gallery gun? Garden Gun? Clay target gun? What is the approximate value?

There sure does not seem to be much info on the Routledge-bored Remington 22's. These are smoothbore but the forward fifteen to seventeen inches are enlarged to about .375 inches in diameter. Best I can tell these were a special order proprietary item not listed in the catalogs. I believe they are highly collectable so hang on to it.

Hey coleman88--Have you looked at the Marlin Garden Gun, .22 Mag. shotgun for your dad?

The 514 Routledge bore is a fairly expensive piece if you look at prices asked for them in the GunList
