I OWN 4 REVOLVERS OF THE WEBLEY RIC TYPE
SERIAL NUMBERS ARE 79975 IN 450CAL,82764 IN 476 CAL, 76051 IN 450, AND 95436 IN 450. HOW CAN I FIND OUT IF THESE ARE PRE -1898 OR ANTIQUES.? THANK YOU FOR ANYTHING YOU CAN TELL ME.

    There were several models of this revolver (Royal Irish Constabulary) and the last was discontinued in 1939. Looks like they are all well inside the definition of antique (50 years?). As to whether or not your individual pieces are pre-1898, I rather doubt it, as the numbers are relatively high; but I do not have a serial number list for these by year of manufacture. Interesting that the lowest and highest are only separated by about 19,000.
