W.J. Jeffery What's it worth?

I have a W.J. Jeffery double barrel shot gun. 12 ga side/back lock hammer gun that has damascus barrels, is practically totally engraved, serial # 233x. It has had the stock broken and somewhat repaired at some point. Bores are mostly mirror with some light spotting in fornt of the chambers. Light freckling on the barrels but mostly patina with a clear damascus pattern showing. Forearm is fine with some dings. Also came in the original(?) hard case but it is fairly rough although the 6x6 square Jeffery sticker is still in pretty good shape with most print readable. A couple of cleaning ends but the cleaning rods are missing.
Can anyone put a date on this gun and how about a value for everything? Thanks,
Scott

William Jackman Jeffery was with Webley's for somewhere around 7 or 8 years, then established a business of his own. Apparently other gunmakers were contracted to make firearms for him which he put in his showroom and sold under his label. He is credited with selling more of the huge .600 double rifle than anyone else in London. It seem that Leonard ---- and Saunders (separate gunmakers but both from Birmingham---NO NOT ALABAMA---sorry just had to sneak that in there) made many of his sidelock firearms. The company records are supposed to be with Holland & Holland in London. You might want to contact them by e-mail and see what they can come up with
BE PATIENT --- they will get around to it in their on good time.
I am going to make the assumption that the barrels are NOT or BARELY in proof, and I do NOT have the gun in hand nor any pictures. Since you have the case, even though it may not be in great shape, it certainly adds to the value. I would have to come down somewhere around $1300 - $1600.
Please relize that this is merely my opinion ---- AND YOU KNOW ABOUT OPINIONS!!!!!
Best Regards
Thanks for the input, I'll give H&H a try. Anyone else is more than welcome to add to this...
Thanks,
Scott
